Join us for spectacular walking and views

A popular summit trek by daytime, it forms a real challenge by night. You’ll get a fabulous reward as you reach the summit of Yr Wyddfa, watching the sun rise and the light reveal the spectacular Snowdonian mountain range before you.

Is this challenge for me?

Yes, you can do it! If you are moderately fit, climbing Snowdon is definitely within your reach. Although Snowdon is one of the highest mountains in the UK and the tallest mountain in Wales, it is probably the friendliest for the novice walker to climb. You will follow the Llanberis path, which is the longest and most gradual of the six main paths to the summit of Snowdon, and offers fantastic views of Cwm Brwynog, Llanberis and over the Menai straights towards Anglesey.

We’ll also send you a training plan once you sign up and we also offer an 8-mile pre-event training walk on Saturday 20 June from Winchcombe to Cleeve Hill and back. You can meet the team, ask any questions, get your legs ready for your challenge and, of course (and most importantly), finish off with a well-deserved cuppa and cake.

For further information on the challenge, check out our FAQs below.

“Climbing Snowdon to raise money for Katharine House was an incredible experience. The support team were wonderful. It was a real challenge but one that left us buzzing, and completing it with my daughter was a very special tribute to my darling Mum who passed away the year before.” Minnie, past participant

Why your support matters

It costs more than £5.9m per year to run every element of Katharine House Hospice, which equates for £16,261 each day.

While Katharine House Hospice receives some funding from the government to cover these costs, our fundraising and retail teams still have to raise two-thirds of the running costs every year and we rely on the generosity of our community to help us.

Your fundraising enables us to keep delivering our services for free to support adults with life-limiting illnesses.

You can view some of our patient and family stories here to see how fundraising directly benefits patients in our care.

“No amount of thanks can express our gratitude and love for you all. Your care and love shone out to us all in our time of need.” Patient’s family
