A mighty effort for Pace Around the World challenge
Throughout June, 107 incredible participants walked, ran, cycled and wheeled their way around our virtual route, all while raising vital funds for Katharine House Hospice.

Pace Around the World was our first virtual steps challenge and ran throughout June, encouraging people to log their steps and help us travel the distance around the world on our virtual route.
When we launched the challenge, we hoped to recruit between 300 and 400 participants, so taking on such an ambitious route with just 107 people was always going to be a big ask. Our teams still managed to complete an incredible 43% of the journey! That’s a total of 41,215,297 steps – the equivalent of 28,264.2 km (17,562.5 miles).
The challenge has raised over £11,000 for Katharine House Hospice, which could fund 136 visits from one of our community palliative care nurses to a patient in the comfort of their own home.
To everyone who took part, donated, sponsored or supported from the sidelines – thank you. You have helped make our very first Pace Around the World challenge a brilliant success.

This December, Katharine House Hospice is inviting the community to come together to remember loved ones by dedicating a star at its annual remembrance event.
Katharine House is calling on supporters, current and new, to pledge their support to the hospice this year and help ensure it can carry on its care in the community.
