The annual Banbury Christmas Tractor Run returns for its tenth event, in support of Katharine House Hospice.

The much-loved Tractor Run will be back on 13 December with a festive fleet of 100 tractors driving a 20-mile route through local villages across north Oxfordshire, including South Newington, Milcombe, Bloxham, Banbury, Adderbury, Aynho, Clifton, Deddington, Hempton, and Barford St Michael.

All 100 tractors have been sponsored by local businesses, meaning the event has already raised £38,900 ahead of its launch. The event team have set a fundraising target of £100,000 this year to support the vital work of Katharine House Hospice, which costs £5.9m each year to run.

Roseann Thompson, Community Engagement Manager at Katharine House Hospice, recognised the impact the event has on the local community. “The Banbury Christmas Tractor Run gets bigger and better every year and we have been working so hard, pretty much since the last one finished, to do all we can to reach our £100,000 target for this event. It will all be worthwhile when we see and hear the excitement it causes across Banbury and the local villages it visits!

“We know that it’s hard out there for a lot of people and businesses at the moment, but we are always so grateful to receive such generous donations and support from the community for this much-loved event.”

Jennie Steenkamp from RC Baker, founder and co-organiser of the Tractor Run, said, “We are so thrilled to have the support of so many wonderful local businesses and fantastic tractor drivers. This event not only brings joy to the community and vital funds for Katharine House, it also highlights the resilience of our farming community in tough times.”

This year, there will be market traders at Banbury Cross, as well as various Spotlight Stops across the route, so spectators can enjoy food and drink before, during and after the Tractor Run. Tractor drivers are invited to take part in the Best Dressed Tractor competition and spectators can vote for their favourite on the official Banbury Christmas Tractor Run Facebook page.

Full details including a route map, approximate timings, parking suggestions and where you can enjoy food and drink along the route can be found on the Tractor Run event page.
