Our community has helped raise an incredible £130,142 through Katharine House Hospice’s Christmas fundraising events, supporting vital end-of-life care for adults living with incurable illnesses across north Oxfordshire and south Northamptonshire.
Throughout December, individuals, schools, businesses and volunteers took part in the Schools Santa Run, the iconic Banbury Christmas Tractor Run, the Christmas Tree-cycle scheme, collections and gift-wrapping events. Whether people donated, volunteered or helped spread the word, every contribution made a real difference.
The impact of your support
The funds raised will go towards supporting the running costs of the hospice. It costs more than £5.9 million each year to run every element of Katharine House Hospice. This equates to £114,139 per week, £16,261 per day and £678 per hour.
With only around a third of this funding coming from the government, community support remains vital to ensure we can continue providing free, specialist palliative care to local people and their families.
In addition, every donation helps to fund expert medical care, emotional support and practical help at the hospice in Adderbury, in hospital and in people’s own homes.
The hospice exists because of the kindness, dedication and generosity of our community. Without the amazing people who support us, we simply would not be here. Thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas such a success.
Looking ahead, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference in 2026, helping ensure the hospice can continue its vital work in the community.
