Meet the charity staff

Georgia, Supporter Care Officer

Meet Georgia, who looks after all our wonderful supporters. Find out what a typical day is like as well as her favourite dessert!

Name: Georgia Betts
Job Title: Supporter Care Officer
Joined the team: January 2026

How did you get into your role and come to work for Katharine House?

I was working in a client relationship role when I saw the supporter care officer position advertised, and I instantly knew it was something I wanted to be part of. I began my career within a training/HR environment, so I’ve always worked in people-facing positions and really enjoy building meaningful relationships. Having also had a couple of family members cared for at Katharine House, I knew just how special it is here. Being able to work here and give something back feels incredibly rewarding.

What’s a typical day like?

Taking care of all our wonderful supporters! No day is ever the same – I’m on hand to support in any way I possibly can.

Sometimes I can be assisting with queries on the phone or by email. I might be meeting supporters who come into the hospice or even providing any support that I can to wonderful individuals who might be holding their own fundraisers in aid of Katharine House or taking part in any events or challenges. There is so much variety to my role!

How does it feel to work for the hospice?

I feel proud to work for Katharine House. It is nice knowing that even in very sad times there can also be joy and positivity. It’s always really lovely to see our supporters celebrating and remembering their loved ones.

What makes Katharine House so special?

The entire team – everyone really goes above and beyond!

Now for some quick-fire questions…

The best thing about my job is: hearing all of the amazing stories from our supporters.

If I could go anywhere in the world, I’d go on: a safari, which is definitely high up on my bucket list.

My favourite dessert is: sticky toffee pudding or tiramisu – I can’t decide on one.

My favourite season is: spring.

If I won the lottery, I would buy: a small farm with donkeys, goats and runner ducks.

My idea of a perfect day is: a long walk in the countryside with the dogs and then stopping off at the pub for a pint and a packet of crisps afterwards.

My favourite thing to eat is: pasta – of any kind.

I never miss an episode of: The Traitors!

Without doubt, the best animals are: dogs.

My favourite way to unwind is: on the sofa with a glass of wine watching a good film.

My go-to biscuit is: any kind of chunky chocolate cookie.
