When will the flowers be on display at Katharine House Hospice?

Rose to Remember will be on display from Tuesday 9 June to Sunday 21 June.

How much is a rose?

Each rose costs £30. To purchase a rose, please return to our Rose to Remember page.

How does Rose to Remember help Katharine House?

As well as being a tribute to the lives and memories of those special to us, last year our Rose to Remember event also raised £19,477 for the hospice.

While we deliver all our hospice services completely free of charge to those who need them, it costs more than £5.9m per year to run every element of Katharine House Hospice. This equates to £114,139 per week, £16,261 per day and £678 per hour.

Roughly speaking, Katharine House receives funding from the government to cover around a third of these costs so our fundraising and retail teams have to raise the other two-thirds.

This means your support is vital in ensuring our patients and their families receive the very best care when they need it.

Can I choose the colour of the rose?

This year all the roses will be purple. We will change the colour each year.

Will my rose be labelled with my loved one's name?

No, however there will be a dedication board and if you have dedicated a flower before 1 June, your loved one’s name will appear on here.

When is the private viewing?

The private viewings will take place on Saturday 13 June and the evening of Thursday 18 June. These are open to those who have purchased a rose.

Why did you choose a rose?

Our hospice is named after Katharine who died from cancer at just 20 years old. Her favourite flower was the rose and it has always formed part of our logo.

We have needed to increase the price this year due to increased postage and packaging costs.

The roses will naturally rust over time when exposed to the elements. We recommend keeping your rose indoors to keep it in the best condition.Â
