How to set up your JustGiving page

JustGiving is an easy-to-use online platform that helps you share your story and encourage donations to Katharine House. Donations can be gift-aided and go directly to the charity.

Setting up your fundraising page

When setting up your fundraising page, please only use JustGiving as this helps us to save time and money spent on administration.

  • Go to the Katharine House fundraising page on JustGiving.
  • Select the ‘Start Fundraising’ button.
  • Either log into JustGiving (if you haven’t already) or set up an account.

Please set up your page as soon as possible.

Specific Katharine House Hospice fundraising JustGiving pages

Please use the same name for your online fundraising page that you used when you told us about your event (if you have already done this). This will help us with our administration.

How to make the most of your JustGiving page

There are quick and easy ways to increase the amount you fundraise through the JustGiving platform and we’ve included them here to give you the best start.

  • Update your JustGiving profile with a photo of you so that people can feel sure they are supporting you.
  • Update your page with photos that relate to your event or story.
  • Set a target! Your friends and family want you to succeed, so by setting a target, they will want to help you reach it.
  • Tell your story! Why are you fundraising for Katharine House Hospice? What story can you tell to touch the hearts of your friends and family to support the hospice? What are you doing to fundraise? If you are doing something in memory of a loved one then share your special memories you have as part of your story. What do you remember about them most fondly? Why have you chosen to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice in their memory? Have you got a photo you can share of them?
  • Get your donations started. Make a donation to your page before sharing it with family and friends. When people see your page and see that there is already a donation on there, it actually makes them more likely to give a donation and match or beat that donation!
  • Now share your story. We can’t emphasise how important this is for helping you to reach and beat your target. The more you post, email, WhatsApp or text, the more you will raise.
  • Keep telling your story. How’s your training going? What outfit will you wear? How did it go on the day? And if you have a special story, always bring it back to the why. Why is Katharine House special to you? Why do you want your friends and family to support the hospice?
  • Say thank you. When someone donates to your page, give them a message or a call to say thank you. A new donation is also a great excuse to post on social media to update your contacts with how your fundraising is going. And after the event, let everyone know your grand total and give your supporters a last chance to support you!

Help from JustGiving

JustGiving has lots of helpful information on their website about setting up and managing your fundraising, such as adding:

  • money you’ve raised offline to your page, so that all your supporters can see how much you’ve raised.
  • your team name to your page so that if you’re taking part in an event with friends, family or colleagues, you can see your combined total in one place.
