Ward receptionist – weekends
Can you support our Inpatient unit and the catering team with general ward duties and visitor support?
The role
We’re looking for ward receptionists to help out in our inpatient unit and catering teams on the weekends.
Our inpatient unit is a very busy but welcoming environment at the heart of the hospice. As a ward receptionist you will welcome visitors and provide hospitality to them. You will sit with patients to provide companionship, answer the phone and record messages and respond to call bells.
You will have excellent and personable communication skills, a friendly manner and be comfortable working within a ward. We ask that you are sensitive to the needs of visitors and patients and ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
We’ll give you all the training you need.
We have vacancies for the following regular shifts, which can be on a weekly rotation or fortnightly, depending on your availability:
- Alternate Saturday mornings 9.30am-1.30pm
- Sunday afternoons 1-5pm
We always welcome applicants who could be our Reserve Ward Receptionists: short notice flexibility to cover shifts where required both during the week and at weekends
