We’re talking shop for Hospice Care Week
Hospice Care Week is a time to celebrate our fabulous hospice and all the people who make it what it is.
17 October 2024
Each year, Katharine House takes part in the national Hospice Care Week campaign, giving us a chance to celebrate our wonderful hospice and the people who make it what it is.
The theme for this year’s campaign, which takes place from 7 to 13 October, is hospice retail and the vital role it plays in funding hospice services.
As well as our eBay store, we have seven brilliant Katharine House shops, operating in the area, selling high-quality, low-cost clothing in aid of our hospice. Our amazing team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to sort through clothing donations and get the best price for the hospice and best deal for their customers!
Throughout the week on social media, we’ll be talking about our amazing retail team and why we couldn’t survive without them. Hospice UK estimates that to fund a hospice bed for a year, on average, would mean a hospice shop would need to sell 43,000 blouses!
We’ll also be telling you all about our £20 challenge! We’ve set our shops a challenge to create the best autumn outfit from their stock for just £20!
Now £20 may not sound a lot, but that money could fund an hour of compassionate, expert nursing care for our patients in our inpatient unit.
Think you can create a chic and stylish autumn outfit for £20 from our shops? Then why not join the challenge yourself? Look out for more details on Facebook and Instagram and send us your videos or pics of your haul.
