Chosen Charity

Galvanise your staff behind an inspiring cause and demonstrate your company’s commitment to making a difference by nominating us as your Chosen Charity.

The benefits of supporting a charity

Nominating us as your Chosen Charity, whether that be for a week, a month, a year or indefinitely, offers a unique opportunity to unite your staff behind an inspiring cause and demonstrate your company’s commitment to making a difference.

There are lots of advantages for you.

  • By supporting a local charity that is important to the community in which you recruit from and serve, you are showing that you care. Your brand will be better recognised by your target audience and will mean that the public’s perception of your brand is a positive one.
  • This in turn helps to grow your network and therefore your business connections, which can only be a good thing.
  • Your team will have the opportunity to strengthen their relationships with each other outside of the usual day-to-day tasks. Bringing everyone together to work towards a shared goal can really motivate and inspire your team.
  • Research shows that employees prefer to work for organisations that care – so that’s good news for recruitment and retention.

What it means to have Katharine House as your Chosen Charity

  • We supported 1,206 patients last year from the local community. We need the support of the local community to ensure we are here and providing the best possible service.
  • Without the generosity of the local community we couldn’t provide the physiotherapy, the wellbeing relaxation classes, the home-cooked meals, the one-to-one social care, the bereavement support, the arts and crafts, beautiful gardens, the fun and laughter.
  • By supporting Katharine House, not only will you be making a positive contribution to the community, but you will also be helping us to make every moment matter for our patients and their families.

“The hospice has helped me and my family personally, so I know first-hand how wonderful Katharine House is. As a business owner, it is nice to be in a position to be able to give back as a way of thanking the hospice and its staff for the work that that they do.”Peter Critchley, Higham Critchley Barrows

What can we do?

  • That’s up to you, and you may already have plenty of ideas amongst the team, but we do have a calendar of events and activities (link) to get you started. So have a look and pick and choose something that would suit you and your team best.
  • The most important thing is that you have fun whilst fundraising, so do something you enjoy!
