Ways your school can support Katharine House

There are lots of exciting and meaningful ways for your school community to get involved and support Katharine House Hospice. Whether you are a nursery, primary, secondary or sixth form, you can pick and choose from the ideas below.

Host fundraising events and activities

Whether it’s a cake sale, student-made items, a sponsored silence, litter pick or non-uniform day – it all makes a big difference to the patients and families we support at Katharine House.

Event sponsorship

Schools can sponsor elements of our fundraising events  such as milestones for active challenges, a tractor in the well-known Banbury Christmas Tractor Run, or events such as our Schools Santa Run – showcasing your school’s community spirit and leadership in supporting local causes.

School charity of the year

Bring your whole school community together behind an inspiring local cause by choosing Katharine House Hospice as your Charity of the Year. It’s a fantastic way to promote empathy, teamwork and leadership among students while raising vital funds.

Challenges and events

We have a jampacked events calendar throughout the year of events, challenges and campaigns that you, your schools and your school family can get involved in.

Whether it’s pulling together a team to take part in something or encouraging families to take part through your newsletter, it helps us to reach a wider audience.

Hear from one of our representatives

By learning about the hospice and the importance of compassionate care, students gain valuable understanding of wellbeing, community and social responsibility. We can provide assemblies, classroom talks or resources to support learning.

Facilities

Your school may be able to support us by giving access to school facilities for hospice events! From running tracks, to halls, to meeting rooms to kitchens – it might just come in really handy!

Gifts in kind

Your school may be able to support us behind the scenes by donating items that bring comfort or enjoyment to our patients and families – such as books, games, craft supplies, garden plants or seasonal gifts.
