Fundraising packs

Schools Santa Run fundraising pack

We’ve created this fundraising kit to help you on your way with your own event.

Here’s all the key information you need to take part in the Schools Santa Run 2025. We’ll be in touch via email whenever there’s an update to this page.

Did you know?

  • It costs more than ÂŁ5.9m per year to run every element of Katharine House Hospice.
  • We only receive a third of this funding from the NHS and so we rely on our local community to help raise money to fund our hospice.

Pay for Christmas Day

We need to raise ÂŁ16,261 each and every day to fund the hospice. We do all we can to make Christmas as special as possible for our patients and their families. We’re asking you, along with all our Santa School Runners, to pay for Christmas Day at Katharine House.

How to get there

1. Ask each child to make a small donation to join the run (we suggest a minimum of £2).

2. Get sponsored:

3. Get your donations to Katharine House: see our how to safely manage and pay in your donations for further help.

    About the challenge

Hold your run between 1 and 19 December and fit in within your PE curriculum or as a fun extra-curricular activity. It’s up to you to decide when and how far.

    Your festive wear

In the past, we have supplied each school with Santa hats, but we are trying our very best to become more sustainable, so this year we have decided to use up our stock and we won’t be ordering any more in. We can supply your school with Santa hats (on a first-come, first-served basis), but we’d LOVE to make the Schools Santa Run as sustainable as possible, and so we encourage you to go festive in other ways. You could:

    • Encourage children to wear something festive – you might like to make and decorate Santa hats with the children, using online templates, or ask them to wear Christmas pyjamas on the day. We regret that we can no longer supply you with Santa hats.
    • Ask any children who already have a Santa hat to bring in one from home.
    • Ask the children to run in a festive outfit, such as a hat, jumper or onesie.
    • Wear a festive colour: red or green perhaps?

    School assembly

If you get in early, we might be able to send a Katharine House representative to a school assembly before or after your event to let the children know about what we do at Katharine House and how the money they raise(d) makes a difference.
